SSS Detain Supplier Of Bomb Making Components To Boko Haram —- THEWILL

Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) has detained a man accused of supplying potent bomb making chemicals to the terrorist group Boko Haram.

The middle-aged man identified as Mallam Ayuba Usman, is believed to be linked to the Boko Haram, according to the Kano State SSS Director, Mr. Bassey Etteng.

THEWILL can however report that his arrest is courtesy of an extensive and thorough investigative work by operatives in Kano State.

Etteng told THEWILL on Wednesday that the explosive materials, which Usman was licensed to sell, are highly regulated hence should not have been made available to individuals.

The SSS carted away several bags and boxes containing highly combustive materials.

Members of the Boko Haram, an extremist Islamic group has carried out deadly attacks often using Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).

THEWILL gathered that Usman’s store in Kano has been seized and sealed off by the SSS, while some high profile suspects linked to purchases in the shop are being trailed.

The Boko Haram yesterday posted a video threatening to attack media houses and journalists for giving the group bad press. The video was posted after it bombed the Abuja and Kaduna offices of local newspapers Thisday, The Sun and The Moment.
