Okonjo-Iweala on Forbes‘World’s most Powerful Women’ List

The Coordinating Minister of the Economy and minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been chosen by Forbes as one of the ‘World’s most Powerful Women’.

Forbes, an American business magazine which features international news on finance, industry and marketing information released this list on its site on Thursday.

The Finance  ministers was in the 81st position and one of the three Africans to make the list along with Joyce Banda, President of Malawi at 71st and EllenJohnson Sir leaf, President of Liberia at 82nd position.

Angela Merkel,German Chancellor topped the list followed by the United States secretary ofstate Hilary Clinton in second place. Other notable women are Michelle Obama(7), Melinda Gates (4), Oprah Winfrey (11), Christiane Amanpour (53), Lady Gaga(14), Beyonce Knowles (32), Marissa Mayer – CEO Yahoo (21), Christine Lagarde –MD, IMF (8), Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma (19) and Queen Elizabeth II of the UK(26).
