Chap.Gen. Kile Selky Torughedi
The Mission for Africa Chaplaincy (MAC) has inaugurated a new state command at Bayelsa State and commissioned a Commanding Officer, General Kile Selky Torughedi.
Torughedi who was decorated Chaplain General at the inauguration, was a leader of the south wing sect of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) from 2002-2009 and was involved in the Amnesty programme by the Late President Musa Yar’adua.
His rise to the position at 32 is not unrelated to his passion of alleviating poverty in the Niger Delta and his other philanthropic contributions to different areas of life –education, women/youth empowerment, sports and community projects.
General Torugnedi’s has also been honored by the Post Amnesty Peace Ambassador the Global peace initiative of Nigeria and a chieftaincy title bestowed on him by the King of Egbem Kingdom, Bayelsa.
The commissioning was held at the Salem Cathedral in Lokoja Kogi State and had in attendance the General Officer Commanding, MAC Corps Nigeria, Chap. Gen Sam Keddy .
